Less than 20 kilometres away from Chavannes-de-Bogis, head for Genève, which has an abundance of museums and tourist destinations. The city will nevertheless surprise you with its unique atmosphere.

Around half an hour from Chavannes, discover the capital city of the Olympic Movement, Lausanne. Indeed, the city is home to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), while the Olympic Museum tells the story of the Games. Ensure that you also get to see the cathedral, the Hermitage Foundation and the historic museum. As far as shopping and going out are concerned, head to the Flon, Lausanne’s up-and-coming, trendy neighbourhood where all of Europe heads to have fun.

Explore Nyon, which is located near to our property. Stroll through the town’s floral streets, and visit the Roman Museum, the Church of Our Lady as well as the castle which is home to a museum and notable porcelains, and the Léman Museum. Nyon also hosts Switzerland’s largest open air festival, the Paleo Festival Nyon, each year.

Located an hour from the hotel, discover this medieval town, which is famous for its cheeses, gruyere and vacherin fribourgeois. The town of Gruyères is located on a rocky outcrop that offers stunning, panoramic views over the valley below, and is a fun (and delicious) excursion !

  • Château de Chillon : this castle, on the banks of Lake Geneva, is the most-visited castle in Switzerland, inviting visitors to indulge in romance and contemplation. Visit the dungeons, the courtyards, the chapel and the armoury, all in a fairy-tale setting.
  • Château de Nyon : home to a collection of objects related to the region’s history.
  • Château de Coppet : this eighteenth-century castle was occupied by Jacques Necker, minister of finance to Louis XIV, and by his daughter, the writer, Madame de Staël, among others.
  • Château de Ferney-Voltaire : Voltaire spent nearly twenty years living there, and the castle is listed as a Historic Monument in France.
